Tennant Company Wins Innovation Award at 2007 ISSA

Company’s ech2o technology, which electrically activates plain tap water, earns company top innovation honors; Tennant also wins customer service award

MINNEAPOLIS—October 30, 2007—Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC, a world leader in designing, manufacturing and marketing solutions that create a cleaner, safer world, today announces its receipt of an Innovation Award at the 2007 ISSA/INTERCLEAN® USA Tradeshow and Educational Conference, which took place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., October 23-26. Tennant received the award in recognition of its launch of ech₂o (pronounced “echo”), a breakthrough cleaning technology that electrically activates plain tap water, making it behave like a powerful detergent without any added chemicals.

ech₂o offers significant customer advantages including lower costs, ease of use and improved operator safety plus an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cleaning methods. ech₂o’s cleaning effectiveness is proven to be the same or better than general purpose cleaners, without the negative environmental impact and health issues associated with producing, packaging, transporting, using and disposing of traditional cleaning chemicals. ech₂o begins as water and ends as water.

Tennant was one of more than 25 entrants judged by customers, including distributors, building service contractors, and in-house service providers, during the trade show. Customers voted on which company had the most innovative product or service in a number of different categories as well as for the top three most innovative green products. Tennant won in the power equipment category.

In addition to the Innovation Award, Tennant also earned the Best Customer Service Booth Award for tradeshow booths 300-square feet or larger. This award was also the result of voting conducted by show attendees. Voters made their choices based on which company’s staff best met attendee needs, answered questions, or offered problem-solving solutions when people visited their booths. This is the second year in a row that Tennant has won the award.
