Tennant Company Appoints Mike Schaefer Vice President, Chief Technical Officer

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan 16, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Tennant Company (NYSE:TNC), a world leader in designing, manufacturing and marketing of solutions that help create a cleaner, safer world, announced the appointment of Mike Schaefer, Vice President, Chief Technical Officer. Mr. Schaefer will have responsibility for the company's global R&D efforts.

Schaefer has spent the last seven years with Ecolab, Inc., where he held the position of Vice President of Dispensing Systems, Lean Six Sigma and Quality where he led R&D efforts for their equipment business, continuous improvement and standardization of R&D processes. Previously, Schaefer held various management positions at Alticor Corporation and Kraft General Foods. Mr. Schaefer began his career as a scientist with The Pillsbury Company. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
